The Choriz-Olé was last week's Bar Luca special (better late than never), and was the first week they introduced their smashed pattie as a replacement for the original BL beef pattie. I'm also going to include a disclaimer that my taste of the smashed pattie may be skewed as I added fried chicken to the burger (I had been awake for 34 hours and needed some extra energy). This made it $19 with Fattie's, which is great for how big it was. The chorizo was definitely the best flavour of this burger, not too oily and slightly spicy. It went perfectly with the chimichurri and chilli aioli, although personally I could've gone with a bit more spice. The fried chicken was as usual cooked to perfection, and is an extremely good value addition for $5.The beef was definitely markedly crispier than the regular patties, as a good smashed pattie should be. As a frequent Bar Luca goer I'd call this a solid burger, with the spanish flavour theme working very well, and a nice refresher from the cheesier burgers of past weeks.

🥩🥩Smashed BL beef patty x 2 (1 added) 🧀Red cheddar 🐷Grilled chorizo 🌰Pickled Spanish onion 🌶Roast capsicum and chilli aioli 🥓 Bacon (added) 🥬🥦🍷Chimichurri One of the most perfectly balanced burgers I have had, grilled chorizo had that strong savoury/salty taste, fans of chorizo will love this. Patties melted in my mouth, they were smashed to perfection. The aioli was lathered on and brought spice and left you wanting more. Pickled onions were a nice substitute for pickles, soft yet a subtle acidic taste. Bacon was crisp and had that sweet maple taste, this burger needed a sweet hit and the bacon provided it. Chimichurri was (perfect) refreshed the palate and kept everything fresh.
