Nicely cooked but thin meat, didn’t like the buns as they weren’t very soft.

Got a taste for truffle a little while back and trying out brades version for the first time. The truffle aioli has a really earthy flavour (good thing). Burger was very nice but the onion relish was a bit too sweet and overpowering for my taste. A few bits where it wasn't present had this a solid 4.5.

Delicious burger! Added an additional smashed patty for that extra beefy goodness. The truffle aioli really brought this burger together.

Unfortunately personal circumstances prevented me from attending the Expo, so I hit up Brades at the end of the day instead. I hacked in some Tequila Jalapeno Relish and Mozzarella Sticks, because I wasn't hungry enough for the monthly special 'Brinckley Chronicles', but I wanted to meet it halfway. And it was good, but the Brinckley is definitely better. I forgot how much I love bacon, especially as it offsets the jalapenos (tart/bitterness?) On a normal day though, without hacks, I could see myself downing 2 of these and being quite content. As usual everything was cooked perfectly, the buns were soft+fresh, the mayo was fluffy, and the lettuce was fresh. 👍👍 P. S. - check out that lettuce dab 😜

Was really enjoyable but not as good as brades and brimstone. As with most truffle burgers these days, the sauce had virtually no truffle flavour but I expected this. The highlights were definitely the bourbon caramelised onions and the smoky af patty. This was just missing some maple bacon and maybe a juicy mushroom (like bl burgers)

So, this rating is just as much for the staff - if not more so - than it is for the burger. To set the scene, Wanderers are playing Leeds, so there's 60 people in the shop - and wait time on a burger is 30mins. Hey, that's the cost of quality. No problems. Happy to wait. But apparently, some football fans don't quite understand how "time" works, and cut it pretty thin to try and grab a feed before the match. Maybe they should have gone to Maccas instead. In any case, some West End lad in his 60s thought it would be a good idea to a) change his mind to ask for take away after his burger arrived, and make it out to be staff's fault; b) complain that he didn't get the chips he didn't order; and c) after the lady serving him went back to get him said chips, upped and left the store. What a dick. Much props to the staff for putting up with that crap. Re. my burger, to be fair I was pretty hungry after my own football match and waiting that 30mins, so I could have eaten dog food, but it was pretty good. I added an extra patty+cheese, bacon, and onion rings. And a few dabs of hot sauce. I said I was hungry. The beef was both char-crusty on the outside AND pink on the inside; bourbon onions were soooo good; and I loved the texture of the Swiss cheese, but I think I prefer the saltiness of American cheese as a switcheroo suggestion for next time. Also, I know this was because of the rush, but the top of my bun was refrigerator cold even though it was toasted underneath. Bacon was also much less crispy this time. But it still tasted great, and I did contemplate a 2nd... Cheers, ++
