A lot of meat. Like a lot. This burger is meat and cheese, exactly as advertised. Not my style, I like more of an all round burger with some garnish but for those looking for a good burger that focuses on the meat and cheese then this is for you.

This is called the Capital. Went back to brodburger for a couple of extra burgers. Tried out the Capital. Very heavy with the lettuce and overall the garnish dominated this burger and did not hold together too well. Meat was also a little dry, some more sauce would have helped. On a positive note, a sound burger that had a great bun and good overall flavour. I’d have the brodburger over this any day but wouldn’t be too disappointed if this was my only experience.

Spending some time in our nations capital this week and took a break from roundabout spotting to test our brodburger. I was skeptical looking at some of the photos and my photo is no better. The photo in a weird way does perfect justice to this beautiful burger. 200G FLAME GRILLED BEEF PATTY LETTUCE TOMATO SPANISH ONION HOMEMADE AIOLI TOMATO RELISH SWISS CHEESE This tasted like a really really good old fashioned burger. Moist bun, good balance of greens and the Aioli and patty were kings of this burger. The Spanish onion was prominent and complemented the Aioli and patty well. This burger also travelled well. Order online, it gets VERY busy around lunch. To improve, patty could have filled the bun better and I like a little more cheese. If in Canberra, you must try this out!

Brodburger is the crown jewel of burger joints in Canberra (according to my mate) so my spontaneous trip down led me there. It is an interesting menu (salmon burger, etc) but I ended up getting a gloried cheese burger, the Double Cheese. A cool little feature is that with every burger you choose your cheese (Brie, blue, cheddar or Swiss). I went with cheddar as per the stores suggestion. I went in with such high expectations and they weren’t quite met. It was a good burger - nice toasted buns, generous sized meat patties, good amount of cheese and cheese melt plus the burgers themselves are deceptively large. The disappointment came through in the way it was actually cooked. Both my meat patties were irregularly cooked (one half medium, the other medium rare). The “tomato relish” is actually just a second layer of ketchup and the over all feel was that it was an over priced cheese burger. Maybe some bacon would’ve helped, silly me. Overall, a good burger that should’ve been great based on its simplicity. I’d like to go back and try some of their other burgers. They generally looked amazing as they came out. Maybe mine was a misfire?

2x 200g flame grilled beef patties, 2x eggs, 2x crispy bacon, lettuce, tomato, Spanish onion, housemade aioli, tomato relish Brodburger is a Canberra institution so I’m told, from humble beginnings as a food truck, to a parking hazard causing the government to gently nudge them in the direction of a brick and mortar restaurant. The burgers are legit. High quality ingredients, with ethically produced beef set a foundation for an incredible feed. Brodburger’s food is part food truck part takeaway shop - so no milk buns and streaky bacon here. Good old Aussie style burgers with a modern burger mentality. Bring your appetite because these are incredible filling - I definitely overestimated ordering two burgers. A trip to Canberra is not complete without a visit to Brodburger

✔ Blue cheese, grilled meat patty, plain bun I used to frequent brodburger many years ago when it was a red caravan by the lake that was uneasy to the national capital authority's eye (they were truing to evict them for setting up illegally)... Now they've been set up art the glass works for a few years now. At the time i thought these guys were awesome as they were venturing into the gourmet burger scene where their nearest competitor was maccas. Times have evolved since then and they have a much larger selection. I opted for the original brodburger and whilst it doesn't compete with some of the new offerings around town, It still maintained its original flavors i remember so long ago. The tangy blue cheese, the slighty rare mince, the simple bun to allow you to focus on the meat and cheese. All of this is enough to make you crave more!!! The onion rings are of the battered variety in case you're expecting crumb.

I had heard good things about this place, The Hound even recommended them, but sadly they didn’t deliver. There was nothing terribly wrong with the burger, but there also wasn’t anything right with it. A bunch of us (28) headed there after a half day at work, when we were told there’d be a wait if 50 minutes half left. After 70 minutes our chips/onion rings arrived, and after a further 10-20 minutes all our burgers were on the table. The wait itself was not a problem, the problem was 3/4 the restaurant ordering after us, and being fed before us. Now to the burger, there is no better word than “meh” to describe it. Beef patty was large (200g) but was both dry and flavourless. The lettuce was bitter, and the aioli tasted like mayo. I’m 95% sure there were other ingredients, but they were forgotten amongst the mentioned ingredients. The chip servings are generous, $6.50 getting you a huge huge serve, but they were oily, cold and, again, flavourless. All in all, I’d skip a beef burger if I were to return, but I probably would recommend other burgers over these guys.

Great chicken burger as usual. Chicken juicy and all ingredients on point. The combo of chilly aioli and avo always ticks the box. Swiss cheese as today's cheese choice was also great!
