A lot of meat. Like a lot. This burger is meat and cheese, exactly as advertised. Not my style, I like more of an all round burger with some garnish but for those looking for a good burger that focuses on the meat and cheese then this is for you.

Brodburger is the crown jewel of burger joints in Canberra (according to my mate) so my spontaneous trip down led me there. It is an interesting menu (salmon burger, etc) but I ended up getting a gloried cheese burger, the Double Cheese. A cool little feature is that with every burger you choose your cheese (Brie, blue, cheddar or Swiss). I went with cheddar as per the stores suggestion. I went in with such high expectations and they weren’t quite met. It was a good burger - nice toasted buns, generous sized meat patties, good amount of cheese and cheese melt plus the burgers themselves are deceptively large. The disappointment came through in the way it was actually cooked. Both my meat patties were irregularly cooked (one half medium, the other medium rare). The “tomato relish” is actually just a second layer of ketchup and the over all feel was that it was an over priced cheese burger. Maybe some bacon would’ve helped, silly me. Overall, a good burger that should’ve been great based on its simplicity. I’d like to go back and try some of their other burgers. They generally looked amazing as they came out. Maybe mine was a misfire?

🚩🚩 @brodburger 🚩🚩 🍔 DOUBLE: 2x 200g Angus patties, swiss and American cheddar, pickles, ketchup, American mustard, onion plus I added bacon 🍔 So this place is the second Canberra burger institution I learnt about. After thinking they were catching my fresh beef patty in a grass paddock I learnt an online ordering system meant delays could be 30-60mins even if it's dead instore. The Burger is solid. But for what I would call a 'takeaway shop' burger, $20 for a Double cheeseburger is steep. Even with 200g patties. Bacon was average, could have been much crispier. Was very busy but so definitely won the locals over.
