I’ve been eyeing off Burger Hero for a solid year now but haven’t had an excuse to come down to Canberra till work dragged us here for the next week. Luckily they’ve booked us into a hotel that’s directly above the store so bring on the burger binge! The menu is choc full of solid choices and hectic burgers, you can also build your own from scratch which is nice. I opted for the Top Hero since it has double smashed patties and chicken. I also added a cheese patty because well, why not? The patties were great! Not too thin, nice and crispy but still juicy but the chicken was a bit dry and thin for my liking. Closer to a chicken katsu than a buttermilk fry but it still worked amongst the other flavours. I stole the unwanted pickles off my mates burger and found they really helped to cut through the fried meatiness of this monstrosity. It could’ve used a bit more sauce too but that might be just me wanting my burger to be dripping with some kind of mayo, aioli, chili or something to add extra juice and flavour. The buns were SOLID! Well they were soft and fluffy but really held together everything and didn’t melt, fall apart or succumb to the oils and sauces which was a huge bonus. Waffles fries were killer too, more places should offer them as an option. Killer feed, can’t wait to try more on the menu!

Probably one of the nicest tasting beef patties I've had in a long time, needed a little more chat though. Chicken was moist but a little thin so it got lost in all the big flavours. Cheese was deliciously gooey, onion rings and pickles gave it some nice crunch. Sauce was nice but got a bit much by the end, would like to try it with a smoky bbq sauce. Also added bacon, cause ya gotta 😉

The hype is real! Down here in Canbrrra for a conference this weekend and Burger Hero was on my burgergoals list. I went for one of their freak burgers, the usual double patty banger with a piece of chicken and onion rings...the taste is anything but. Firstly those smashed patties are just so soft and flavour-smacking, on par with Burger Head and other top notch places. Then you have a nice piece of chicken to top it off, some battered goodness with the onion rings and the hero sauce that was a tangy mayo kinda thing, I dunno but it was solid. Oh and their buns were divine, a burger that was a pleasure from start to finish.
