🐮 Beef patty 🧀 Bocconcini 🥬Lettuce 💧Beetroot relish 💦Mayo In my gradual attempt to eat every burger in Newtown, I found myself at Foodarama. I forgot to take note of their new menu though so this is what I think was on it... The beef was very well done and was well seasoned, with a very cafe-burg thickness and herby flavour. The bun was fresh and the greens were of the slightly more prickly variety, which frankly never belong on a burger. The cheese was melted nicely but that's pretty easy to achieve when there is so little of it. The sauces are where this burger earnt its points. The beetroot relish was bright and refreshing with a zesty zing and it went well with the mayo which very much suited the beef - it complemented it like when you have yoghurt with lamb, I think I caught a bit of a lemony zing in there somewhere. I find it really difficult to settle on a score for a cafe burger, they're just a different beast to the crazy shit we hunt for. This one was up there within its own class thanks to the attention paid to the complexity of its flavours, but I would probably head further up the street for something else once I've tried their chicken burger.
