🍔 - Gojima Double. 📍 - @gojima_au . 👍🏼 - 4.8/5 rating. . This is one of the most unique burger I’ve had. A sushi burger from @gojima_au was unreal. It sounded a bit weird though it worked so well. This burger came with 2 Angus Beef patties, cheese, tomato, pickles and special sauce. This is very unique and worked so well, and that’s why I gave it a high rating so if you want a unique flavour, give this a go and you won’t be disappointed. #gojima

Angus Beef 🥩 Crispy Katsu Mushroom 🍄 Tomato 🍅 Pickles 🥒 Lettuce 🥬 Special Sauce 🥫 Japanese Sushi Rice Bun 🍚 Nori 🍃 Well. What a wild experience this was. It felt a little wrong having a burger without a bun, but jeez, a rice bun isn’t too bad. I’m not sure personally whether the nori and rice match the traditional burger, but this could just be the familiarity I have with normal burgers. Unfortunately, the sushi rice Gojima use is the sticky kind so doesn’t quite supplement a nice brioche or soft bun. The burger is constructed quite well, with a good proportion of meat:mushroom:cheese:salad:bun. The sauce that Gojima use is unreal too. I’m not hugely into fish, but the sashimi ‘burgers’ would be great for anyone who wants a twist on their everyday sushi. The other burgers are good too, and that’s why this burger scored (relatively) high, but I definitely wouldn’t go too far out of my way with 8-Bit, Down’N’Out and other options nearby.

🍙Gojima Hamburger🍙 🍖 Grilled Angus Beef Pattie 🍅 Tomatoes 🥬 Lettuce 🥒 Pickles ✔ Special Sauce 🧀 Cheese 🍙 Pan Fried Rice and Seaweed Bun Price: $21 including Fries and Malted Thickshake $12.90 for the burger on its own Out in the city with mates and they were hyping this place up so figured why not. This is Gojima at Haymarket as The Star is undergoing renovations. I'll be honest my expectations weren't high for this. I mean i love sushi and burgers but never together, but I'm not one to shy away from new foods and fusions. From the first bite i immediately smiled and giggled like a child, this was great. As you bite you're hit with a wave of the special sauce, which feels like a mix of Miso and Sriracha among other ingredients with the crunch of the seaweed and rice bun. Then the beef, nicely grilled, little pink in the middle as i like, seasoned well and very juicy and moist, with perfectly melted cheese. The pickles really made this feel like a burger despite the fusion with sushi, and the tomato and lettuce rounded off the whole burger. The secret gem were the fries and shakes. Sorry for no photo of them, but the fries are seasoned with seaweed and pack a flavour punch that competent the burger well. Strawberry and Cream Malt shake really hit the spot. Overall really worth trying and looking forward to trying the rest of their menu!

Very surprising! To be honest, I didn’t have very high hopes for this burger and if anything was interested in giving it a go for the novelty aspect alone. For such a simplistic burger, it delivered a fair bit of flavour. The patty whilst quite thin was not over cooked and vegetables were fresh. The novelty touch, and in my opinion standout aspect was the ‘bun’. The rice appeared to be fried and covered in a sheet of nori. Broke up the texture nicely with a solid crunch. Held together well and didn’t detract from the filling. Only downfall was the sauce, tasty no doubt, but not enough of it. Definitely feel like there should have been more, especially considering the absence of cheese. Overall a solid, very unique burger which hits the spot without blowing your socks off. At $13 it’s a bit pricey but nothing too extreme.

🍗Crispy chicken 🧀Cheese 🍅Tomato 🥒Pickles 🥬Lettuce 🍔Gojima miso sauce Very trippy burger, looks like sushi and every bite it tastes like sushi but with pickles, I enjoyed it for what it was. Never had sushi with cheese in it but loved it with this, chicken was crispy and the salad was nice and fresh.

I went out with a mate to Gojima (they have a new branch on level 3, Market City) and I tried their sushi fusion burgers...I was pleasantly surprised with the form factor, crispy cooked rice on the either side to keep the filling in, it was a nice clean crunch. Also impressed with the patty itself, would taste better between 2 buns though haha. Wonder if their chicken burger would fit better?
