Angus Beef 🥩 Crispy Katsu Mushroom 🍄 Tomato 🍅 Pickles 🥒 Lettuce 🥬 Special Sauce 🥫 Japanese Sushi Rice Bun 🍚 Nori 🍃 Well. What a wild experience this was. It felt a little wrong having a burger without a bun, but jeez, a rice bun isn’t too bad. I’m not sure personally whether the nori and rice match the traditional burger, but this could just be the familiarity I have with normal burgers. Unfortunately, the sushi rice Gojima use is the sticky kind so doesn’t quite supplement a nice brioche or soft bun. The burger is constructed quite well, with a good proportion of meat:mushroom:cheese:salad:bun. The sauce that Gojima use is unreal too. I’m not hugely into fish, but the sashimi ‘burgers’ would be great for anyone who wants a twist on their everyday sushi. The other burgers are good too, and that’s why this burger scored (relatively) high, but I definitely wouldn’t go too far out of my way with 8-Bit, Down’N’Out and other options nearby.

Actually the... 💥🐟Spicy Tuna🐟💥 🇯🇵🍙Japanese sushi rice & nori 🐟Yellowfin tuna 🧀Cheese 🥬Lettuce 🥒Cucumber ⚪Pickled radish 🌿Scallions 💥💦Gojima spicy mayo It always impresses and baffles me how Gojima manages to pull off their burgers - a slice of cheese with raw fish? It shouldn't work but it does. The rice bun and seaweed were perfectly crunchy and the salad bits kept it fresh. The sauce had just enough kick in it to keep things interesting and to complement the fresher ingredients. And the cheese, well, it works, somehow. The tuna was good but there just isn't enough of it on the burger for my taste. There were a few slices of sashimi like you'd get on a piece of sushi so it ends up being the sauce and rice dominating the burger. It's perfect for a light burger but not great value for ~$15.

Not the Gojima Stack, but the... 🍔Kingfish Sweet Mustard Burger🍔 🍙Japanese sushi rice + nori 🐟Hiramasa kingfish 🧀Cheese 🥬Lettuce 🥒Cucumber ❇️Radish pickle 🌿Scallions 💦Gojima sweet mustard sauce Not at all a traditional burger - fried rice cakes wrapped with seaweed form the buns and work surprisingly well, delivering a satisfying crunch from start to end. There were only three small pieces of kingfish sashimi on here which were almost lost amongst everything else on there. I've had the salmon burger here before and it had way more on it than this one. Good kingfish nonetheless. I didn't really notice the cheese, but the cucumber, lettuce and radish keep the burger feeling fresh with a subtle crispiness, which is necessary with the raw fish. The sauce is the winner on here though. It's sweet but not too sweet, the mustard isn't overpowering, and it has a very satisfying overall tang. The sauce really fuses the kingfish, salads bits and rice buns into one delicious, sushi-burger package. Definitely worth a try but given that Kieran recently questioned avo on a burger, I can only imagine that raw fish is going to be a bit divisive...
