Aptly named ‘Burnout’ for their last special of this messed up year. 🐓 fried chicken 🐷 Smokey bacon 🧀 aged cheddar 💦 burnout sauce 🥬 lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles 🍔charcoal bun Maybe it was the free beer, but this went down a treat. The charcoal bun was a standout, with a subtle flavour of, you guessed it... Charcoal. Smokiness filtered through the whole burger from the bacon and sauce, nicely balanced with the strong aged cheese, anything less would have been lost. And the chicken, succulent and crispy. Bring on next year.

Pretty cool spot in Canberra, good atmosphere and good food. Went off issac_eatsalot recommendation for chicken and pizza and it didn’t disappoint. Really succulent yet crispy chicken. Their special sauce was really good too. Only thing I’d change is maybe for them to shred the lettuce but f**k end of the day it’s only lettuce. Also shit house picture but eating took priority. Oh and the Detroit style pizza was heaps good I’d say better than burger.

Really decent taste, would’ve scored higher if the capers had come through - perhaps the truffle aioli hides them. If you don’t like truffles, swap to habanero mayo I suggest. Dipped this in GM gravy and it was like a lux version of French ‘au jus’ dipped steak sandwiches.

Another secret menu item.... 🥔🥔 mash and gravy🥔🥔 Your either a lover or a hater of mash on a burg. This was a treat with the crispy fried chicken. Add in double cheese, pickles and thick gravy to bring it all together. Only downfall was the price, at $18 it's on the steeper side of what you should pay for a burger. Does come with chips though.

Shhhh - new secret Menu 🐔🐔 Double double🐔🐔 Double southern fried chicken thighs, greasey sauce, bacon and cheese. Well at least that’s what I think the ingredients are given there's no menu. And don't let photo fool you, it was big! Super greasy chicken but epically juicy, lashings of smokey bacon and a creamy sauce. Only downfall was the third degree finger tip burns. Now off to hosptial for a triple bypass...

El Chapo 🌮 Continuing my burger adventure in Canberra, I swung by Grease Monkey as I heard they were worth a visit. Their current special is pretty much nachos on a burger which is executed really well. All the flavours meld together nicely, the black bean and corn beef patty was nice and juicy and had a great Mexican flavour. The cheese sauce and guac softened the salsa and jalapeños and the corn chips gave a nice difference with the texture. I’m a big fan of burgers that you can’t fit your mouth around but all the burgers here are relatively small so a few points lost there. Reminiscent of a classic take away shop style burger, the ingredients are fresh and buns are soft and nicely toasted. Flavours are awesome but it’s a shame about the size. At least all burgers come with a side of chips to fill up on!

I'm here at Floriade for an author event, couldn't go past the Grease Monkey food truck. Their standard burger has a soft bun, juicy thin patty but their presentation was lacking, bit of lettuce and sauce overload wasn't the best. But it was during the busy lunch rush so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt :-) Would love to try their proper store next time
