Huxtaburger (Redfern, Sydney) Denise + Extra Patty Apart from the fact the meat was erring on the side of medium well to well (although still somewhat juicy), I really enjoyed this and would go back. This is saying something considering Milk Bar is 2 min down the road. Obviously Milk Bar is more artisan than Huxtaburger which is probably closer to a Betty’s or what Burger Projecr should have been but the ingredients were fresh and flavours simple and tasty. Also really enjoyed the bun. PS I had the Huxtaburger cook book before they came to Sydney a few years ago and definitely learnt a few things from there. So

Nice, also had the chips that were really good. Could do with a slight bigger beef paddy and some more cheese.

I have fond memories and a big soft soft for huxtaburger. Back in the day it was one of my first experience with an “American” style burger. Had to pay them a visit whilst in Melbourne for the weekend. Went for the Denise, which came loaded with jalapeños. It was good, but I’ve had better from huxtaburger. It just wasn’t out together with as much love as I would hope. A decent experience none the less.

The price was good according to the amount of food I ate. The only thing I’d say is it should have more cheese, since it’s called “Cheesus”. Overall it was good

Don’t mind the fluorescent white Sriracha mayo, my camera was doing funny things in the low light. Prefer the beef over the chicken at Huxtaburger, and the Denise is a nice solid option with some mild heat from the jalapeños but nicely offset by some the mayo. I thought it odd to have Sriracha mayo, yellow mustard AND ketchup on one burger, but it turned out alright. Beef was nicely cooked and topped a generous amount of jalapeños, which I did like.

Pretty straight forward fried chicken burger. Nothing too flash, just a decent burger. That said, I’ll probably stick to Huxtaburger’s beef options next time give them a try.
