Ross Kemp on Burgers 🍔

Wrote a review •

I’ll tell ya what, after a bloody long day roaming around the Goldy there’s probably not too many other places I wouldn’t mind pulling up stumps for a burger. The setting here is awesome and the vibe is super chill (although during school hols I can imagine there’s a few kids around). To be honest you probably wouldnt expect the level of burg that’s here. The beef was cooked amazingly, just medium and a touch of pink, keeping the patties juicy. The hashies are always a winner and added some great texture to the burger. The obligatory bacon was crispy af and the pickle relish stuff on the bottom of the burger really topped it off. Make sure you grab the loaded fries too. The pulled pork was epic, super smoky and appropriately soft 👌🏼. If you’re on the Goldy, don’t miss this one, it’ll take you by surprise.

Another Gold Coast burger, this time at long-time establishment Longboards. I went for the Mini Phat, single patty and while the patty was delish, it was a little overswamped by the thick pulled pork. I'm used to a little pulled pork to make the burger tangy, but this one was laid thick to make it like it was another patty. Perhaps it wasn't for my tastebuds. I want to go back and try a more traditional burger from Longboards before I make my verdict. Promising start.

Been a while since I'd been to Longboards, but it's usually a pretty solid choice and this time was no exception. Grabbed the Beach Cheeseburger again and it did the job. Nice bun, bacon, cheese, onion rings, bbq sauce and mayo. I'm not normally a bbq sauce on a burger guy, but works. As some others have said, the bbq sauce can be a little overpowering, but only slightly. It's a bit pricey at around $22 for a burger and fries too IMO.

I chose to order the Mona Lisa which had truffle sauce and caramelized onions. Those were the ingredients that led me to my decision. The burger came out relatively fast and was delicious! It was far better than I expected. The combination of the sauce with the caramelized onions truly make it unique and different from other burgers I have tried.

This was the first burg for a Gold Coast trip. Was a good burg but the baby Rey’s bbq sauce took over all the flavours. Was still a tasty burg.

🍔 - The Budgie Smuggler. 📍 - @longboardsbar . . As Aussie as it gets. Beautiful wagyu beef patty, lettuce, tomato and beetroot. I love a good old fashion Aussie burger and this was perfection. The guys at @longboardsbar do an amazing lineup of burgers and definitely a hit when you’re in the Gold Coast! I’ll be back here next time up Thesydneyburgerblogger
