Second burger was the Shakin Bacon and it was great. Bacon is the main reason I could never be a vegetarian so I’m a sucker for anything with it on it. 🥓🐷 The bacon jam added a sweetness which tied the bacon, milk bun and cheese together. Not one of the most amazing burgers I’ve ever had but I’d eat it again, and was great for a place that doesn’t specialise in burgers. 🍔

Mouth surgery in the morning didn’t stop me from ordering two burgers for dinner. I did have to eat them with a knife and fork though 😂 The first was the Big Macaroni because all I wanted was a nice Mac & cheese patty. The sauce was great but there wasn’t enough of it... I had to add the table bbq sauce to moisten it up a bit!! It was definitely good to have the lettuce and tomato on the burger to add some texture and juice. The milk bun was soft and tasty but rest was average.

Shakin Bacon 🐄 Wagyu patty 🐖 Crisp bacon 💦 Shack sauce 🐖 Bacon jam 🧀 Cheese 🍅 Tomato Had to try a second burger as repetition = reliability! Better than The Johnny Cash, this burger had a little more oomph to it. Patty was still dry and bacon wasn’t “crisp”. Shame. The shack sauce and bacon jam was amazing though. Really great sweetness provided by the two sauces. Another greasy burger though with a lot of “slip factor”.

The Johnny Cash 🐄 Wagyu patty 🧀 Cheese 🥒 Pickles 💦 Roasted chilli mayo 🌰 Spicy onion rings 🌶 Jalapeños When I saw this place on TBC I thought, “all right, I’ll give it a go”. A lack of reviews and a new menu had be curious. Meh is how I’d sum up this burger. A combination of ingredients that are becoming fairly common on burgers, I thought it’d be great. The verdict: Not a lot of spice and a bland patty. That was a bit disappointing, especially given the price tag. Also needed some bacon. I’ll love anything with bacon! What were good though were the onion rings. They were so, so crunchy and added a really nice texture to a greasy and slippery burger. Overall, this is the sort of burger I’d be happy to eat if I was plastered on a Saturday night and didn’t really care too much about the quality of what I was eating.

This burger appeared on the menu of the “Brews and Burgers” concept; stage two of the transformation from Mona Vale Hotel to Park House Food and Liquor, entitled “Front Yard”. It is easily the worst burger I have tried in 2017. Maybe in the decade. It is a kaleidoscope of disaster and should be avoided at all and every cost.
