15$ for chips and burger was pretty decent. Loved how the fries were thick and long! Burger was pretty decent as well, great in thickness. The sauce was mysteriously delicious! However, the wagyu was a little dry and would totally liked it if it was done at medium rare. (Wasn't ask re the rarity)

Lunch today was the Canteen Burger with added Fried Chicken. The flavours were great - the combination of the sauce, cheese, and the chicken... yum! Totally recommend adding the chicken patty. Perfect combo of crispy and juicy.

*Modified burger* Added a couple of beef patties and maple bacon to this chicken burger, the maple bacon got lost amongst the other flavours unfortunately but the cheese was great and the chicken was above average. Great venue, huge space and decent beer selection.

My jaw had hit the floor upon this hitting my table last night. Keep in mind that before any modifications this burger was a SINGLE wagyu beef patty, maple bacon, cheddar cheese, the healthy addons & the NSC canteen sauce. I've then gone ahead & added- 1 Homemade Potato Cake (came as 2 mini cakes), Fried Chicken & Fried Cheddar Croquette. I honestly thought this was a pretty subtle order when making it. I was so so wrong but so so happy when it came out. For me personally NSC's Fried Chicken has to be the juiciest, crispiest & flavourful spicy (chipolte) chicken I've experienced thus far in our city (Melbourne). It really is out of this world, good! Only slight negative I'd give is I wish the wagyu patty would've been a tad bit more pink than what it initially was but regardless this was a monster of a burg and I'll definitely be back, ASAP!!

Absolutely went to town on the big cheese, added the delicious free range fried chicken as well. Turned this double burger into a bit of a stacked tower. So many cheeses I couldn't even identify. Nice fresh pickles and a soft sweet bun that held together well. Beef was delicious, however patties are very dense which can prove tough to eat when there is 2 of them.

The Melbourne food fest continues. Headed to Fitzroy for a feed at New School Canteen. Couldn't decide what to have but then realised you can't go wrong with a 'classic' burger. The Canteen Burger has wagyu beef, cheese, tomato, lettuce, fresh onion, pickles, mustard, ketchup and 'Canteen sauce'. It was a great burger and considering I wasn't really even hungry I was able to finish it which is always a sign that it's an awesome burger! My only negative critique is that the Canteen sauce was slightly too heavy & not my favourite sauce to have ever had on a burger... and the burger patty had a dense look/texture, but it was cooked well (slightly pink) which is what has lead to the relatively high score. PS. pretty sure the fries were handcut which is always a nice touch.
