Down in Adelaide for the night and hit up Nordburger. The place is pretty massive and was busy so I was pumped to check It out. Ordered the cheeseburger, added fried chicken and ordered it without pickles. Got some Tots and a salted caramel Shake match. Burg came out after 10 or so minutes. With Pickles on (no big deal) but when I pulled it open, there was just one big glob of sauce in the middle of the burg (but not enough to spread across the rest) and no milkshake... asked the wait staff and they said they’d bring it out in a minute. The beef looked great, and was cooked really well, but seemed like it was either beef that had been frozen and thawed, or cheap meat. It wasn’t particularly juicy and didn’t have much flavour to it. The chicken was pretty decent, nice coating and good juicy slab of chook which was the only redeeming part of the burg. Eventually got my shake to go as I was leaving which was pretty average too unfortunately. Not the worst experience I’ve had, but definitely not the best. Will probably stick to Betty’s or Maccas next time I’m down.

7/8/2018 Double Beef, Double Cheese, Bacon, Pickles, Mustard, Ketchup, Chipotle Mayo This basically solidified Nordburger as the premier burger joint in ADL, I think other places are doing a really good job, and are comparable to some places that are nailing it on the East Coast, but Nordburger can definitely hold its own against some Sydney institutions. Simplicity is the key for Nordburger, again following the tried and true formula that places like In-N-Out and Shake Shack made famous. The smashed patties are out of this world, and swapping out the standard NORD burger sauce for Chipotle aioli, which they nailed - actually leaving it with a good kick, rather than most places that basically serve pink mayo. A refreshing change of pace is the shortcut bacon in place of streaky bacon. Cooked properly I think shortcut bacon gives a lot of great cured pork flavour that you miss when streaky bacon is fried to the point that it’s basically tree bark.

7/8/2018 Buttermilk-Fried Chicken Breast, Bacon, Grilled Pineapple, American Cheese, Lettuce, Mustard, Ketchup, DELTA Sauce. On the other end of the spectrum, the chicken burgers here are still very good. I haven’t had many chicken burgers in ADL to compare to, so bias is inherent. Really nice set of flavours, with the heavily-seasoned southern style chicken being complemented by the tropical sweet of the grilled pineapple and the dill-based DELTA sauce. Think it could do without ketchup and mustard for mine. Gets a little complicated on the palate but it’s still a winner for me

This is my favourite cheeseburger style burger in Adelaide. Having eaten at most burger places around the city & suburbs, you cant beat the beautiful beef patties at Nordburger. They pull apart just perfectly in your mouth, topped with their special "Fry Sauce", it is dream to sink your teeth into. They also give generous servings of their Fry Sauce with your choice of side for only 30c! Enough so you don't run out before you finish your chips, which is a pet hate of mine. They do their bacon fairly crispy, I'm more of a lightly cooked kind of guy but still wouldn't have my burger without it! Also i feel like their overall burger size has shrunk a tiny bit since opening, be it the contents or the bun itself, I'm not to sure but thats the only thing keeping it off a 5 Star for me!
