Although the staff were lovely and the sides were crazy good, I was left pretty disappointed at the burger itself especially considering the expensive price tag. When I saw "chickpea patty", I assumed that it was something similar to a falafel. Instead what I got was a decent crispy outter, filled with bland mush of chickpea and corn that fell to pieces as I tried to eat it. Others might like it but it wasn't my thing. The rest of the burger, however I felt a bit mixed about. Gooey melted cheese (extra), yummy sauces (although a little too much that it was overwhelming), fresh crisp lettuce (one or two leaves would have sufficed, instead I had to take 2/3rds out), and the most perfectly crisp onion rings (so tasty and incredible)! Sides at this place are beyond perfect (Crispy onion rings, perfectly seasoned chips, on point milkshakes, and mac n cheese to die for), but this place isn't called Notorious Sides. If I could get a BYO Burger, I'd be back in a heart beat, but unfortunately the only veggie burger on the menu has a substandard patty (that they apologised for having difficulty cooking it without it falling apart). So I give the Mary Jane 3.0 points, because I can see the potential, however the patty was a huge let down.
