Back to Melbourne to inject some coin into the burger economy. I reckon I was drooling as I walked in the door, 10 months since the last Royal Stacks visit. This reminded me of a Betty's classic, but it had more of a tasty edge. Super soft little bun, reasonably fine grind patty, some green sht and the burger style big Mac style sauce. Onto burger #2...

Got over to Royal Stacks to try out another big player on the Melbourne burger scene. Never got to try them in Sydney. The single stack shows off the signature beef patty and super soft buns. The patty was not quite as good as Grand Trailer Park imo, but it was a nicer bun.

Came for FRYday added some grilled onion still not enough extra flavour though! A bit bland compared to most alike burgers around Melbourne!

I ordered the single stack, with onion rings and chilli cheese fries. The Single Stack- Unfortunately, this burger was lacking flavour severely. I was fairly disappointed, as I made a long trip there to experience the hype behind it. The Chilli Cheese Fries- once again, dissatisfied. It was bland. Not sure if I got a dud batch, but it was disappointing The onion rings- crumbed 😓 but still tasty. I really should’ve added cheese to it , doh The Snickers Shake - YUUUUMMMM Just what I’d expect from a shake. Overall, it was an experience, but I wouldn’t go back in a hurry

Single Beef Patty Tomato Lettuce Cheddar Special Burger Sauce Pickles This burger was tasty and had a great balance of flavours. However, the bun was a bit chest for my liking.

I firmly believe that Royal Stacks is one of the best burger setups in the country. The single stack is their entry-level burger - something you tell an uneducated-about-burgers mate to have to show them the light without taking huge risks. This particular offering gets taste just right. The meat is special and the bun, though not terribly good looking, does its job perfectly. If you want a big feed, there are other, better options for you. But this burger achieves something much rarer than hunger satisfaction, and that is that it's full-flavoured taste is possibly the best you can get.
